Mission

The mission of the Play With Your Food program is to provide comprehensive fruit and vegetable exposure and nutrition education to students, their families, and the school community at Title I elementary schools in Benton County, Arkansas.

Goals

  1. Increase overall fruit and vegetable consumption among students, their families, and the school community at Title I elementary schools in Benton County, Arkansas.

  2. Enhance the health-related academic potential of Title I elementary students in Benton County, Arkansas.

  3. Build nutrition confidence and self-efficacy in students, families, and the school community at Title I elementary schools in Benton County, Arkansas.

Objectives

  1. By the end of one school year, students will participate in 15 fruit and vegetable exposure education sessions. 

  2. By the end of one school year, students, families, and teachers can describe at least three food exposure activities.

  3. By the end of the school year, students will demonstrate a 25% increase in willingness to try new fruits and vegetables and apply exposure methods when needed.

  4. By the end of the school year, students will choose to eat fruits and vegetables at lunchtime, increasing by 25% over baseline.
